Rachael Ray

So while reading the April issue of Rachael Ray, I stumbled upon a recipe for "Adirondack Red Wing Burgers" and I thought "I'm gonna make these" so I did. The printed recipe, found in the April 2010 Issue of Everyday with Rachael Ray, is on the Rachael Ray website here:

So as we're eating it, my friend says, "this almost tastes like Thanksgiving Dinner on a bun..." and I thought "that's a helluva idea." So I tweeted to RachaelRayMag that I made them, but I thought I would "make it my own" and they asked me to tell them how. I don't know when I'll make them again, or exactly HOW it will turn out, but this is what I'm thinking:

make it turken....
1 lb ground turkey, 1/2 lb ground chicken (I LOVE birdies, they taste good)
"Thanksgiving Dinner on a bun" got me thinking, "what's turkey without a little stuffing?" so I thought I'd add seasoned bread crumbs along with the carrot, celery, and onion. This would help make the meat a little denser to stay together in a patty, and add a little more to the stuffing component of Thanksgiving. The last thing I would add, along with the dill, is some fresh rosemary and thyme, ground with a mortar and pestle, all together, along with the poultry seasoning (I like Penzeys).

So there it is! That is how I would make the Adirondack Burger my own! I hope the folks at Rachael Ray enjoy my tweaking!!!

I've been gone and hidden, but I feel the need to write, so I'll be heading back to cyberspace shortly! Now, though, is bed time! DUECES!!!
